After careful consideration (and a lot of cautious optimism), we’re moving ahead with this year’s Walk on Sunday, September 26, 2021

Join us for the ceremony and walk at Pier 64 at Hudson River Park. We're thrilled to gather as a community once again in-person AND virtually!  Details are below for both programs.

Pier 64, In-Person Celebration:

9:00 AM   - Check In Opens
10:00 AM - Ceremony begins
Walk route will open immediately following the Ceremony

Pier 64 Walk Route:
The two-mile route will be an 'out-and-back' loop along the Hudson River Greenway (one mile from the pier to the turnaround, and one mile back to the pier). Walk Marshals will direct participants and provide assistance along the route.

We realize that not everyone will feel comfortable attending a public event. In addition to an in-person Walk, we are creating a program allowing you to participate virtually from wherever you are.

Virtual Program:

Everyone will be emailed the link to the virtual program before Sunday September 26. We do ask that anyone intending to attend virtually officially register for the Walk, here

9:45 AM   -  Virtual program begins
10:00 AM -  Live stream of the Ceremony at Pier 64 begins

After the conclusion of the live stream, you can walk your Hope & Heroes Walk, your way, in your neighborhood. Remember to post your walk photos to social media with #HopeandHeroesWalk.

Adjustments for COVID compliance on the in-person event:

The safety of our participants is our top priority and we will follow all state, local, federal recommendations and requirements when planning the gathering of the event.

We are requiring all staff to wear a mask, and recommend all in-person participants and volunteers wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.

Food & Beverage:
We encourage you to bring your own snacks and beverages from home. We will have limited pre-packaged snacks available.

Health & Safety Protocols:
Elements like face painting, dunk tank, food buffets, etc. will not be at this year's event to support social distancing.

For more details, see our Health & Safety Protocols.
