Welcome To Our Team Page!
It’s hard to fathom that it’s been over 3 years since we lost our beloved daughter Juliana to a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma. Nothing will ever take away the pain of her loss, but we have found some comfort by participating in the great work that Hope & Heroes does.
After Juliana was delivered, and the hospital was unable to diagnose the cause of her symptoms, we had to find a hospital that could. Through the help of great friends we were able to transfer her to the NICU at Columbia University Medical Center at NewYork-Presbyterian's Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. Within a day of arriving we had a diagnosis and treatment plan. Additionally, we were given access to a tremendous amount of resources to hold our hands and help us navigate this terrible situation.
Although our outcome was not what we had hoped and prayed for, we knew without a doubt that Juliana had the best care available to her, the 18 days she was with us. This is why we choose to support the life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorders at Columbia University Medical Center through Hope and Heroes. Hope & Heroes works with the team at Columbia to create a treatment experience that not only gives patients their best chance to overcome their disease but also allows them to experience as much of their childhood as possible.
We know that there are many worthy and important causes, but hope you will consider giving to Hope and Heroes on behalf of all the children battling pediatric cancer and blood disorders. If you are in NYC on May 20th, please join our family for the Walk at Pier 84. Benjamin will proudly wear his pink shirt to celebrate and remember his beautiful sister that we all miss everyday.
