The Kaminski's Walking Once Again!
The Rottkamp Family
Welcome to my Personal Page!
I am thrilled to be a part of the 8th Annual Hope & Heroes Walk on Sunday, May 21st, 2017 to support children with cancer and blood disorders and their families.
This spring I will be walking with my kids, Zoe, Kody and Wyatt to support children with cancer.
Like many of you, thanks to Facebook, I have been able to reconnect with some old friends that I was close to, and some old acquaintances and social buddies, that I might not have called true friends, but am still glad to see and hear from. Eight years ago I received a Facebook friend request from someone I went to high school with. His name is Joe, and whereas I can remember several jerks in high school, Joe wasn’t one of them. He was a good guy, socially popular, who just took it all day by day. When I got a friend request from him, I was glad to accept it and see what he has been up to in life. Of course like we all do, I went straight for his pictures to see what he looks like now, how big his kids are, etc. That’s when I came across a photo album of his daughter, Sienna. I saw several pictures of a brave, beautiful little girl. She always had a smile on her face and was full of joy. It took a moment for me to realize she was fighting cancer, and my heart immediately went out to her. At that time, I did not yet realize that Sienna was no longer with us. She was only 7 years old. When that realization came, I cried for a little girl I had never even met. It made me hug my little girl just a little bit tighter each time.
Not long after, I received an invitation from Joe to the Hope & Heroes First Annual Walk, in memory of his daughter, Sienna. At first I thought, “That’s nice, I will make a donation,” but then I started thinking that maybe I could do more. May be it was time for me to get up and do something special for a great cause. This way, I am not just making a donation on my own, but rather I am reaching out to my network of friends, colleagues, and neighbors asking them to help me raise money for this great cause while I participate in this event.
That was eight years ago, and I have enjoyed seeing this event grow each year. Although I have been away from the Walk for a few years, this year I am back once again with my own children to call on all of you to help me raise money for kids fighting cancer and blood disorners.
Please support me, Zoe, Kody and Wyatt by making your donation today.
