#loveforleni Hope & Heros Walk page!
Dear Family and Friends,
Last May, dozens of Leni's family, friends, and supporters participated in the 6th annual Hope & Heroes walk in Manhattan. It was an inspiring and energizing experience for all of us who care so much about Leni, and others like her suffering from blood cancer. We accomplished something that day, as team LoveForLeni was one of the top teams, raising almost $10,000 to fight blood cancer. The outcome was tremendous and we left with a feeling of hope. We walked together with a mission to beat blood cancer. Hope & Heroes provides over 40% of the entire budget for the Division of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Stem Cell Transplantation. This allows doctors like the ones that treated Leni to do their best and to provide patients and families with much needed extra support. All of that is possible because of donors like YOU. It wouldn't be a true celebration without the people who make all of these things a reality. The innovative and compassionate clinical care programs and cutting edge research they are funding at Columbia University Medical Center is nationally recognized and respected. I urge you to visit their website for more information.
Since then, Leni has continued to be an inspiration. Despite undergoing difficulties that no small child should have to face, she's almost two years old now, and repeatedly proves to be a resilient fighter. With her adorable smile and happy demeanor, she never fails to remind us of what truly matters.
We would be honored if you would join us this spring at the 7th Annual Hope & Heroes Walk on Sunday, May 22nd, at Manhattan's beautiful Pier 84 (44th Street & the Hudson River) to support ALL children with cancer and blood disorders and their families.
Once again, we will be walking and raising funds as Team LoveForLeni, and hoping to reach- or even exceed- our goal of $10,000. Every dollar raised for the Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund supports the patients, programs, and research at the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Columbia University Medical Center, where Leni is being treated. The Division, located at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, is one of the largest and most distinguished centers for children with cancer and blood disorders in the country. They are depending on us to make sure their unique programs are available to all the children they treat and that their scientists keep working until they find a cure.
Please join us in person to support Leni and others battling blood cancer. If you can't be there with us on May 17th, please consider making a donation to our team.
