Welcome to My Personal Page
On December 26, 2017, I was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer called Osteosarcoma, which meant several months of chemotherapy and a surgery to remove the tumor. For the next nine months, I was receiving treatment in the hospital, and I met so many people, all with hearts of gold. Even though I may not remember all of their names, I will forever remember the kindness they gave to me, to my family, and to so many other patients. Every child life specialist, nurse, doctor, and volunteer made me feel as comfortable as I could be in the hospital. There is no way I could ever thank them all enough, but with Hopes & Heroes I can help to fund the life-saving work on childhood cancer.
Although pediatric cancers are the #1 cause of death by disease among children, they only receive 4% of all cancer-related funding. Out of the 15,000 children in the U.S. diagnosed each year, one in four do not survive.
Columbia University Irving Medical Center treats over 1,500 patients a year, each receiving the best care they can, with support from so many people from the day they are diagnosed. Funding from Hope and Heroes provides for over 40% of the Division’s budget including the newest & most advanced treatments, innovative research, comprehensive wellness for patients & survivors, and ensures that every child, regardless of their ability to pay, gets the very best care.
Donate today and help make a difference. Help by joining my team and walking with us on May 19th. Together, we will help to give another patient, another child, the care that they need, and the care that saved my life just last year.
Thank you so much!
